COMPULSORY BASIC TRAINING (CBT)

Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) was introduced on the Isle of Man in September 2003.
We are the only training school on the Island to have been operating prior to that date, therefore we are the MOST EXPERIENCED IN CONDUCTING CBTS
It is a compulsory course that must be taken prior to having bike lessons towards passing your test and to ride on the road unsupervised if you have your own machine.
You must be able to show a certain level of machine knowledge and control, highway code knowledge and road awareness to pass.

There is no set time limit as to how long the CBT takes to complete; the session may require more time depending on previous riding experience (if applicable).

We can supply a bike at no extra cost, however you must supply your own riding
equipment including helmet, gloves, ankle boots and jacket. As safety is of paramount importance it is advisable that you purchase a good fitting helmet.
PLEASE NOTE, IF NEEDED WE CAN PROVIDE A HELMET, JACKET AND GLOVES, WE ARE PROBABLY THE ONLY TRAINING COMPANY TO OFFER THIS AT NO EXTRA CHARGE.
Rain suits are provided for bad weather conditions at no extra charge.

You can use your own bike/scooter if you wish..

Please ensure you have all necessary insurance documents etc, L-plates front and rear and a full tank of fuel (and 2-stroke oil if applicable). We will also need to see both parts of your Provisional/Full driving licence.

CBT training is held at Port Soderick, about 3/4 mile from the end of Marine Drive, look for a fenced off area with our blue container/office

Please note that a CBT certificate is valid for 2 years.

(We also provide a pick up service for your own bike/scooter)
